In June, while tropical heat sweeps across Southeast Asia, Guizhou welcomes visitors with refreshing mountain breezes. On June 27, a delegation of Malaysian travel professionals, tourism media representatives and travel influencers arrived in Guiyang, Guizhou, beginning a summer exploration journey themed “From Malaysian Heat to Guizhou’s Cool Mountains.”

The trip is designed to meet Malaysian travelers’ growing demand for summer retreats, cultural exploration and family travel, while strengthening tourism exchanges between Guizhou and Malaysia and expanding Guizhou’s Southeast Asian inbound tourism market.

Upon arrival, the delegation was impressed by Guizhou’s refreshing climate. A Malaysian travel influencer shared: “Malaysia is hot and humid throughout the year. Even seaside destinations cannot completely escape the heat, but Guizhou feels completely different—cool, comfortable and refreshing. Visiting Guizhou in summer feels like stepping into another season.”

During the trip, the group will explore Guizhou’s iconic tourism destinations, including Huangguoshu Waterfall and Wanfeng Forest, experiencing the cool summer scenery among waterfalls, mountains and valleys.

The itinerary also includes visits to local villages, intangible cultural heritage experiences, traditional long-table banquets and tea culture activities, allowing visitors to discover the unique combination of Guizhou’s natural landscapes and diverse ethnic cultures.

To meet the needs of Malaysian family travelers, the journey incorporates nature-based learning, mountain homestays and rural leisure experiences, showcasing Guizhou as an ideal destination for travelers of all ages.

With direct flights connecting Malaysia and Guiyang, along with China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy and improved inbound tourism services, traveling to Guizhou for a summer escape has become increasingly convenient. The mountainous paradise is emerging as a new summer destination for Southeast Asian travelers.

The inspection tour will continue until July 2. After the journey, participating travel professionals and media influencers will share their experiences, introducing more Malaysian travelers to Guizhou.
