Guizhou Tourism Group Launches Its Hong Kong Marketing Center, Accelerating Guizhou–Hong Kong Cultural and Tourism Cooperation
On the morning of August 14, Guizhou Tourism Group officially launched its Hong Kong Marketing Center at the Hong Kong Guizhou Chamber of Commerce, alongside a roundtable with Hong Kong travel trade partners. Following the debut of the “Guizhou: A Colorful Way of Living” Experience Pavilion at the HKTDC Food Expo on August 13, the new center marks a major step in Guizhou Tourism Group’s expansion in the Hong Kong and Macao markets and its efforts to strengthen Guizhou–Hong Kong cultural and tourism cooperation.
At the ceremony, Long Cong, Vice Chairman and General Manager of Guizhou Tourism Group, and Ji Yanli, President of the Hong Kong Guizhou Chamber of Commerce, jointly unveiled the center. Nearly 20 representatives from Hong Kong travel companies, media organizations and industry bodies attended the event.
Growing Market Opportunity
Before the unveiling, Guizhou Tourism Group presented Guizhou’s tourism resources and inbound-tourism policies to travel trade representatives. Guizhou’s inbound tourism market has grown strongly: in the first half of 2026, visitor arrivals from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan rose by 48.56% year on year. Overnight visitors from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for about one-quarter of all inbound overnight visitors to Guizhou, making the region its second-largest inbound source market.
Ji Yanli noted that Guizhou’s world-class natural landscapes and rich cultural resources offer significant opportunities for tourism development. The Hong Kong Guizhou Chamber of Commerce has promoted exchanges and collaboration between the two places for a decade, and the new marketing center will provide a long-term platform for deeper cooperation.
Integrated Tourism Services
As Guizhou’s specialist tourism operator and integrated tourism service provider, Guizhou Tourism Group has identified Hong Kong and Macao as strategic markets for inbound tourism. The Group has more than 60 subsidiaries, operates or manages over 70 hotel projects with more than 15,000 rooms, and manages attractions including the FAST Telescope Scenic Area, Yunfeng Tunpu, Jiabang Rice Terraces and Basha Miao Village.
Its tourism offerings include the “Small Vehicle, Small Group” premium travel service, supported by a fleet of 300 executive vehicles, as well as integrated membership and supply-chain platforms. In 2025, the Group received 37,600 inbound visitors. From January to July 2026, it welcomed about 135,000 inbound visitors—around 20% of Guizhou’s total—with year-on-year growth of more than 800%. Visitors from Hong Kong and Macao reached 25,000.
To serve international travellers, the Group has launched Guizhoutravel.com, a multilingual tourism portal supporting Chinese, English, Korean and Thai, as well as cross-border payments. It has also introduced products such as weekend getaways, high-speed-rail trips and customised themed itineraries for family learning, wellness, cultural discovery and nature experiences.
Shared Future
At the roundtable, travel trade representatives discussed transport links, visitor services, policy support and product cooperation. Participants agreed that Guizhou’s ecological landscapes, ethnic culture, wellness and educational travel products align closely with the interests of Hong Kong and international visitors.
Long Cong said the Hong Kong Marketing Center will serve as a strategic gateway for developing high-speed rail + tourism, air + tourism and multi-destination cross-border itineraries. By sharing resources, exchanging visitor flows and co-developing products, Guizhou Tourism Group aims to welcome more Hong Kong, Macao and international travellers to experience the landscapes, culture and lifestyle of Colorful Guizhou.
