The name of Lianhua Ancient Cave derives from a magical sight inside: water droplets falling from the cave ceiling have struck a boulder platter year after year, eventually penetrating the rock to create a lotus formation with distinct petals. Shexiang Cave, by contrast, is a world of entirely different scenery. Its colossal chamber is breathtaking in scale. The rock formations unfurl like a galaxy under the headlamps, earning it the name "Cosmic Dome" and striking an instant sense of nature's grandeur and time's profundity. The stalactites inside the cave take countless marvelous forms, and the most spectacular is the "stone lotus" hanging from the ceiling.     Search for "Lianhua Cave" on your navigation app. Take the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway from Guiyang, which will take about 2 hours to drive. Navigate directly from Lianhua Cave to Shexiang Cave, with a 1.5-hour drive.
    Public transportation
    Take a train from Guiyang North Station to Anshun West Station, then a taxi to the scenic area. It is also recommended to take a taxi from Lianhua Cave to Shexiang Cave.

The cave interior is complex. It is recommended to go in a group of three or more people and hire a local guide familiar with the route.
