Scenic Area Introduction

Zunyi 1964 Cultural Creative Park stands as a new cultural landmark in Zunyi City, developed by leveraging the industrial heritage of the Third Front Construction initiative. Its predecessor was Changzheng No. 12 Factory, originally established by the Guizhou Changzheng Electrical Appliance Group Corporation—relocated from Shanghai to Zunyi during the Third Front Construction period. To preserve this valuable industrial heritage, Zunyi City officially approved the construction of a cultural and creative park on the original site in June 2014. Named “1964” after the year marking the commencement of the national Third Front Construction initiative, the park commemorates this glorious chapter of history. Completed and opened in May 2016, the park successfully transformed industrial memories into cultural creativity through innovative repurposing of red-brick factory buildings and vintage equipment, achieving a metamorphosis from industrial relic to cultural tourism landmark.

Centered around four themes—“Creativity, Fashion, Leisure, and Nostalgia”—the park is divided into five functional zones: the Cultural and Creative District, the Third Front Construction Museum, the Tourism and Leisure Zone, the Art Plaza Area, and the Management and Service Zone. While preserving its strong industrial atmosphere, the park incorporates diverse elements such as art galleries, cultural and creative streets, and reading spaces. It also hosts a continuous array of cultural exhibitions, artistic events, and creative markets. As one of Guizhou Province's first new urban public cultural spaces and a national pioneer in K-12 experiential learning bases, the 1964 Cultural Creative Park has evolved into a comprehensive platform integrating heritage preservation, cultural leisure, tourist attractions, artistic exchange, and educational research. It serves as a vital venue for residents and visitors to experience Third Front history while enjoying modern cultural life.
