“The Great Turning Point”

Scenic Area Introduction

The Great Turning Point is a large-scale immersive cultural performance produced by Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, to commemorate the Zunyi Conference. Since its premiere in January 2024, it has become a vital cultural vehicle for carrying forward the revolutionary spirit and continuing the revolutionary legacy, as well as a new cultural calling card for Zunyi. As a landmark project within the Guizhou Key Development Zone of the Long March National Cultural Park, it has been designated as one of Zunyi's first “Grand Ideological and Political Education” practical teaching bases, dedicated to promoting the great founding spirit of the Communist Party, the spirit of the Long March, and the spirit of the Zunyi Conference.Centered on the Central Red Army's Long March through Guizhou, the production artistically recreates pivotal historical events: the bloody Battle of the Xiang River, the strategic shift at Tongdao, the breakthrough at the Wujiang River, the convening of the Zunyi Conference, and the subsequent Four Crossings of the Chishui River. The production ingeniously employs advanced technologies such as enhanced holographic illusions, 540-degree surround lighting effects, and high-fidelity 9D surround sound to simulate authentic battle scenes, creating an intensely immersive audiovisual experience that transports audiences to the front lines. By early 2025, the show had successfully staged over 800 performances, attracting more than 280,000 attendees and garnering enthusiastic public acclaim. 

As a new red cultural tourism landmark in the “City of Turning Points,” The Great Turning Point vividly narrates the story of Zunyi through the deep integration of technology and art. It effectively advances education on ideals and convictions, continuing to play a vital role in inheriting the red gene and cultivating new generations for the new era.
