Malin River Bridge
A Rainbow Bridge Soaring Over the Earth's Scar.
Introduction
A silver-gray bridge with two towers, called the Malin River Bridge, crosses the Malin River Grand Canyon in Xingyi, southwest Guizhou. The bridge crosses a beautiful crack in the earth called “the most beautiful scar on Earth.” The bridge is 1,386 meters long.
The bridge's deck is 27.1 meters wide. It is suspended 241 meters above the valley floor. This is equivalent to an 80-story building. The main towers are H-shaped. They are 192 meters tall. They stand like giants on either side of the gorge. 168 cable stays radiate outward in a fan pattern. These cable stays firmly anchor the massive main girder. Against the backdrop of blue skies, white clouds, and cascading waterfalls, the bridge traces an elegant arc of mechanical beauty.
The Maling River Bridge is an important road that connects Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi. It makes the drive between Xingyi and Kunming much shorter. The bridge also connects well-known places like the Maling River Gorge National 4A Tourist Area, Wanfenglin, and Wanfeng Lake. This creates a tourism experience with many different parts. People can see the bridge and the gorge at the same time. Visitors can look out from the bridge's observation deck or the canyon's skywalk. From the bridge, they can see waterfalls and streams below. From the bottom, they can look up at the tall bridge supports that seem to touch the clouds, showing how modern engineering and natural beauty come together.
At dawn and dusk, the mist in the valley and over the bridge becomes one with the sky; at these times, the reds and pinks of the setting sun light up the bridge and the water falling over the waterfall, which reflects the colours of the rainbow. Every photograph taken here captures a beautiful moment.
